Position Summary
LOCATED IN KEARNEY, NE
The Laboratory Manager will oversee the operations and administration of two gross anatomy laboratories and one biohazardous wet laboratory for the University of Nebraska Medical Center at the Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex (RHEC) on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus in Kearney, NE. Medicine, physician assistant, occupational therapy, and physical therapy students participate in cadaveric dissection anatomy instruction, and medical laboratory science students participate in experiential instruction using the biohazardous wet laboratory. This role includes scheduling laboratory sessions, assisting with the preparation and breakdown for teaching activities and exams, maintaining the labs, managing biohazard waste, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Laboratory Manager will also work directly with UNMC personnel on the Nebraska Anatomic Board to secure and properly dispose of donor bodies and related materials. Additionally, they will maintain all laboratory equipment, ensure regular testing and certification, and submit any required reports. The Laboratory Manager collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and students to model a positive and respectful image of the Anatomical Donation Program.
