Description:

The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Director of Security. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.

The Director of Security develops implements and maintains policies and programs to ensure the physical safety of the Club's members, guests, staff, property and assets; complies with security requirements and the Club's internal controls. The position serves as the primary investigator of any incidents that happen at the Club. This position will create relationships with local Police authorities and other relevant governmental agencies for the betterment of the Club's security concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure the protection of all company assets as well as the safety and welfare of guests and staff.
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
Create policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe environment for members and staff.
Investigates the club's rules infractions and other incidents and generate formal reports.
Making suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, for the internal security of specific operations, member programs, and departments as well as all guests on property.
Assists supervising activities on property including special events, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and controls of the Club are enforced throughout all Club locations
Investigates any losses that may or may not have been a result of criminal actions, and reports results to the appropriate entity. Works with club's insurance broker and carriers in investigation of claims.
Continually monitor staffing within the assigned purview to ensure adequate coverages for all anticipated business requirements and special events.
Maintains adequate staffing levels in the Security Department, by searching, onboarding, training working with the outside staffing agency.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with various members of the community (i.e. Unions, Police Department, Sheriff's Department, Fire Department.)
Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Security Employees as well as department heads, as needed.
Routinely tours and inspects the properties, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting it to the appropriate person, for proper resolution.
Cooperates with but performs independently of all other departments on property.
Compose and carry out annual emergency evacuation drills and programs to facilitate compliance with state and insurance requirements.
Build relationships with relevant government authorities for the betterment of the Club's security concerns.
Reports to the Chief Financial Officer of the club while maintaining close working relationships with the club's management team.
Directs the overall operation of the Security Department including staff, budgets, and other areas as directed by the CFO and the appropriate executive management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
General proficiency in electronic surveillance systems.
Superb team leadership and development as well as collaborating ability.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to assess and evaluate team member performance fairly.
Ability to supervise, train, and motivate multiple levels of staff.
Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
Skilled in proactively assessing performance and aligning solutions that are strategic and cultural.
Demonstrated success of strong relationship management and team building skills, with ability to influence leaders and team members at all levels within the greater organization. Experience with change management and rolling out small- and large-scale initiatives.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, as well as, to top management and public groups.
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Requirements
Must have security or relevant experience.
Ability to effectively handle sensitive investigations.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Background and knowledge of security operations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.
A proven people leader with success building and leading high performing teams. Act as a leader of change and innovation across the Club.

Preferred Qualifications
Training in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, Business Management or related field preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of compliance with applicable federal, state and local, laws and sport governing body regulations
