Location: San Jose, California
Report to: Head of Japan-Asia Banking Division
Salary: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 DOE (Exempt)
Work Style: Hybrid - Office 3 days, Remote work 2 days
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Financial Service Officer ("FSO") will be responsible for supporting and assisting Relationship Managers efforts for driving business development sale as well as monitoring and maintaining the quality of new and existing portfolios. They will help coordinate with company (Americas & Asia) and other referral sources to bring in business while communicating well with other departments within the Bank for coordination and collaborations. Assist in managing the overall relationship profitability and portfolio risk for Japan-Asia Banking Division in San Jose and providing a positive experience to customers and colleagues while operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Relationship Managers in achieving sales goals and contributing to the growth of Bank loan and deposit portfolio.
This position requires a basic understanding of Deposit Accounts, Services and Products or a willingness to learn about these products and services.
Work with product partners (Middle Office, Portfolio Managers, Cash Management Sales, International, Treasury, etc..) to analyze, evaluate and develop a tailored relationship strategy for each client or prospect to support Relationship Managers.
Ensure that customer relationships are managed to maximize the opportunity for the Bank, while considering risk and customer needs.
Assist Relationship Managers to identify and develop profitable new client relationships by leveraging centers of influence, existing clients & referral sources.
Communicate with customers to enhance the relationship and ensure business needs are being met.
Organize and support customer events and seminars as needed.
May require business trips within and/or outside of the state of California.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
1 to 3 years in banking, financial services, or similar industries experience
1 to 2 years in supporting business development/sales experience
Fluent in Japanese (Verbal and Written)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A willingness to learn about Business & Personal Deposit Accounts, Products such as Foreign Exchange, online banking, business lending, cash management, etc.
A willingness to learn about new accounts and documentation requirements.

Knowledge of Trade Finance
