Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Pediatric Program Chair will be responsible for providing leadership, vision, and oversight for the Pediatric Residency Program. This includes:
- Program Leadership & Administration
- Overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the pediatric residency curriculum.
- Ensuring compliance with ACGME accreditation standards and fostering a culture of excellence in training.
- Collaborating with hospital leadership, faculty, and community stakeholders to expand and strengthen the program.
- Education & Faculty Development
- Recruiting, mentoring, and developing faculty members to support the program's academic mission.
- Driving innovation in medical education by integrating evidence-based practices and modern teaching methodologies.
- Promoting faculty and resident participation in research, scholarly activities, and national academic forums.
- Clinical & Research Excellence
- Enhancing pediatric patient care outcomes by integrating cutting-edge research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Encouraging resident involvement in clinical research and academic presentations.
- Partnering with the Institute for Academic Medicine to expand research initiatives and funding opportunities.
Candidate Qualifications
We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished leader with:
- MD or DO degree, with board certification in Pediatrics.
- Eligibility for licensure in West Virginia.
- Significant experience in medical education, academic leadership, and residency program administration.
- A strong record of clinical excellence, mentorship, and scholarly activity.
- A demonstrated ability to foster collaboration among interdisciplinary teams and community partners.
