Job Description
Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
Job Specialty: Radiology

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience
License: NH MIRT Licensure
Certifications: BLS, RDMS
Must-Have:
- Knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to recognize normal and abnormal findings
- Basic scanning skills with a good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques
- Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with some exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
Job Description:
- Work in an ultrasound unit with 4 rooms and a staff of 14
- Perform typical procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNAs (fine needle aspirations), biopsies of soft tissue masses or lymph nodes, liver and renal biopsies, drainages, thrombin injections, and more
- Operate Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10 ultrasound equipment
- Utilize Allscripts EMR and InteleRad PACS systems
- Provide compassionate patient care across a diverse population, from pediatrics to geriatrics
Preferred or Nice to Have:
- Additional certifications: RVT, OB-GYN, AB
- Experience in the operating room and with ultrasound procedures beyond education
Personality Fit:
- Hardworking, willing to learn, and a motivated self-starter
- Fast learner, considerate, and team-oriented
- Capable of working independently and willing to teach others
- Able to communicate effectively with management
Floating Areas:
- Opportunities for extra shifts within the department; potential for involvement in breast ultrasound if desired
Dress Code:
- Professional scrubs in any color or radiology-themed T-shirts, ensuring a clean appearance
Unit Guidelines/Policies:
- Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed
- All exam protocols need to be adhered to
Weekends and On-call:
- Weekends covered by weekend position staff; no on-call duty, but a call tree is implemented for critical staffing needs.
