Overview
The Margaret H Rollins School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Admissions and Student Services Coordinator to support prospective and enrolled students. This role plays a crucial part in student recruitment, admissions counseling, data management, and student services to ensure a seamless and supportive academic experience.
Responsibilities
Admissions Counseling:
- Evaluate prospective student applications, assessing academic qualifications and eligibility for admission.
- Provide personalized guidance to prospective students regarding admissions requirements, the application process, enrollment, and financial aid/scholarship options.
- Facilitate meetings with potential students to assess their academic readiness for the nursing program.
- Manage phone calls, letters, and emails regarding admissions criteria and inquiries.
- Collaborate with academic partners, including higher education and secondary education institutions.
- Serve on the Admissions Committee.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of prospective and enrolled students within the student information system (GradPro).
- Track recruitment efforts, application trends, and enrollment data to identify areas for improvement.
- Generate reports on student recruitment and retention metrics for leadership review.
Student Recruitment:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students from targeted demographics.
- Attend college fairs, high school visits, and community events to present program information and generate interest in collaboration with the Admissions Chairperson.
- Prepare and submit publicity materials to Communications for open house events.
- Manage relationships with high school counselors and community partners to identify potential applicants.
- Create and distribute marketing materials, update website content, and manage social media platforms.
Student Services:
- Provide academic advising to enrolled students as needed.
- Monitor academic progress and offer support services, including referrals to faculty members and/or the Program Coordinator.
- Respond to student inquiries and coordinate student events in collaboration with faculty and administration.
- Support and attend student activities, including graduation and class activities.
- Attend annual Advisory Board and School of Nursing Department meetings.
Qualifications
- Experience in academic advising, admissions, or student services, preferably in a nursing or healthcare education setting with at least two years of direct nursing experience.
- Experience in educational recruitment and admissions in high education (preferred)
- Knowledge of admissions policies, financial aid guidelines, and academic program requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide guidance and support to students.
- Proficiency in data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and external partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Willingness to travel for recruitment events as needed.
