We are seeking a dynamic National Tool Crib Manager to work out of our Ottawa or Vaughan Office! This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of tool cribs nationwide, maintaining accurate inventory, and implementing cutting-edge tool tracking software.
As the National Tool Crib Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting regional teams, addressing both routine and urgent needs, and managing field expectations. Your expertise in inventory management, mechanical and tool knowledge, and leadership in technology initiatives will be key to your success.
We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational and communication skills, who can act as a liaison between regional tool cribs and internal teams, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with financial goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain national inventory status, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate and support regional tool crib activities, addressing both routine and urgent needs.
- Manage field expectations and deliverable timelines for tools and equipment.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize tool and inventory tracking software, including OneKey and ToolHub.
- Provide internal support for audits and compliance checks.
- Act as a liaison between regional tool cribs and internal teams, facilitating smooth operations.
- Lead technology initiatives to enhance tool management processes.
- Guide regional managers in performance reviews and professional development, with dotted line responsibilities.
- Ensure tool cribs align with regional P&L objectives and support financial goals.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong mechanical and tool expertise.
- Experience in the trades is an asset.
- Proven ability to transition from a hands-on tool role to an office/tool crib management position.
- Proficiency with tool management systems and inventory software, with experience in OneKey and ToolHub being highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and support diverse teams across multiple regions.
