The Employer Development Account Executive plays a critical role driving the growth and expansion of our employer portfolio. The purpose of this position is to establish new employer relationships with organizations who value Smith talent and will hire Smith students into great internships and jobs, affording career development opportunities, competitive compensation, and opportunities to lead businesses as they evolve.
The OCS team focuses primarily on generating hires with specific time frames in order to support top rankings and support the Smith brand as we attract new students. In addition, the Account Executive will collaborate with the Account Management team to hand-off new accounts with a smooth transition for a white glove employer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prospects, develops new corporate partnerships with Fortune 500, Federal Government, Non-Profit, and start-up organizations that want to implement talent solutions strategies to attract high-level talent to their organizations.

Collaborates cross-functionally with internal departments and account teams to discuss industry/market trends, customer feedback, and best practices to help create accurate forecasts, identify opportunities for new service offerings and determine high potential targets. Reporting: CRM Analytics & Pipeline Management. Leverages Salesforce to maintain accurate records of all lead generation and subsequent activity tracking and other related sales metrics. Daily diligence in populating CRM database with contact information, meeting notes, and sales cycle for follow-up

Establishes and cultivates highly effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to OCS Career Coaches, employers and leaders from the private-sector, and in federal state, and local government; Smith School leadership, university officials, staff, students, alumni, and others encountered during OCS engagements. Partners with external stakeholders (e.g., QUEST, faculty, Centers of Excellence, DAR, etc.) to promote collaborative outreach efforts to further advance the goals and mission of the Smith enterprise. Other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Develop and execute strategic outreach efforts to engage new employers, leveraging industry research, networking events, and
targeted communications to expand hiring partnerships.
Build strong employer relationships by understanding workforce needs, aligning opportunities with student skills, and facilitating
seamless recruitment experiences.
Collaborate with career services, faculty, and program leaders to integrate employer partnerships into student career pathways
through internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
Plan and coordinate employer engagement initiatives to connect students with potential employers, including career fairs,
recruiting events, and site visits.
Track employer engagement metrics and hiring outcomes to assess partnership success, identify growth opportunities, and refine
strategies for continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift 10 lbs

PREFERENCES:

Significant experience in business development or corporate recruitment. Working with HR or staffing firms a plus. Cross-functional and cross-industry experience highly desired. Connectivity within the labor market highly desired. Understanding of technology industry/hiring trends desired. Experience working in a business school/higher education a plus. (e.g., Undergraduate, Specialty Masters, MBA, EMBA, etc.)

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Six Sigma, Spanish, certifications in sales process a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Eight (8) years of professional program management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
  • Knowledge of organizational and unit performance measures.
  • Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in data analytics and negotiation.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to research information and analyze/synthesize complex data and information to create reports and presentations with valid conclusions derived from various sources.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
