POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
KKCS is seeking an experienced Constructability Review Specialist - General to support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during the preconstruction phase for school facility projects. This role requires extensive experience in construction administration, design coordination, and public or educational facility construction. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. The position is full-time, contract, W2, and onsite in Los Angeles, CA.

- Salary Range: $148,920-$153,920 annually

KKCS is seeking an experienced Constructability Review Specialist - General to support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during the preconstruction phase for school facility projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. The position is full-time, contract, W2, and onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document scope of work and schedule, including interim housing requirements.
- Provide value engineering recommendations at the outset of the design process to optimize project outcomes.
- Review design professionals' deliverables to identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions in progress plans to reduce RFIs and change orders.
- Ensure design documents are effectively coordinated between design disciplines.
- Prepare comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents.
- Coordinate with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative to align project requirements and expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project execution and delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
Option 1:
- 15 years of full-time professional paid experience with an Architecture degree, including:
- 10 years acting as a Construction Administrator on public or educational facility construction projects with full responsibility for supporting those projects.
- 5 years acting as a Designer.
- Project experience must include:
- A construction value of $8M or more for a single project OR a combined cumulative project value of $80M.
Option 2:
- 15 years of full-time paid professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager on public/educational facility construction or large commercial projects.
- Experience must include full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with:
- A single project construction value exceeding $30M OR a combined cumulative project value of $400M.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work efficiently, quickly, and confidently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in writing Request for Clarifications (RFCs), reviewing submittals, and managing change orders.
- Strong skills in computer programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Bluebeam.
