In theManager of CostAccountingposition you will provide financial planning, reporting and consulting services in the cost accounting functions of the finance department. These services include inventory valuation, production costing, manufacturing cost control, and fixed assets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
Establishes standard labor and burden rates after considering capacities, budgets, spending patterns, customer size, et al. Reviews and approves material standards after evaluating purchase price variances and known or likely changes in commodity costs. Analyzes work order variances and interprets results for operations to effect improvement. Provides reports and analyses for operations management of variable and fixed spending variances to plan and the flex plan. Works with program management to develop labor and burden rates for new quote opportunities. Revises standard costs so that they closely match the actual costs of production. Calculates inventory revaluation amount related to standards changes. Works with operations departments to develop budgets that correspond with revenue plans. Reviews and recommends for executive approval capital expenditure requests that meet minimum return requirements. Maintains fixed asset records and provides controlled environment that safeguards assets. Determines the most financially advantageous process (lease vs. buy) to procure fixed assets. Negotiates lease terms and type if that is the option chosen.

- Provides leadership, direction, and support to the department, responsible for department budget, and responsible for adhering to all Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Manages department staffing in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes staff forecasting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Attends meetings as needed to support organization activity.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- At least five years cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous management experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people.
- Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and be familiar with commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish or Chinese.
- Experience in Contract Manufacturing and EMS industry desired with an emphasis in supporting an offshore manufacturing facility.
