Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager of Clinical Operations is accountable and responsible for coordination of department/function activities to ensure delivery of quality patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment. The Manager provides effective leadership that supports the mission, vision and strategic plan of the organization and its values. This role manages department operations to include staff schedule, staff productivity, resource utilization and expense management to ensure quality patient care and to achieve maximum financial performance.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager of Clinical Operations is accountable and responsible for coordination of department/function activities to ensure delivery of quality patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment. The Manager provides effective leadership that supports the mission, vision and strategic plan of the organization and its values. This role manages department operations to include staff schedule, staff productivity, resource utilization and expense management to ensure quality patient care and to achieve maximum financial performance.
What you will do in this role:
- Provide oversite for care of all patients cared for by department staff, providing support and expertise to staff.
- Assess and ensure quality of patient care and assists in patient care as necessary. Ensure adherence to patient experience and patient satisfaction initiatives and interactions.
- Interact with others utilizing professional and appropriate interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiples tasks and projects in a productive manner.
- Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification requirements.
- Manage staffing needs and personnel management; including interviewing, hiring and orientation of new staff members.
- Support House Supervisor by responding to campus emergencies, RRT, Code situations and assists as needed.
- Ensure 24-hour coverage for House Supervisor.
- Ensure timely patient throughput in a safe and effective manner. Coordinate activities that expedite patient flow.
- Create an environment and culture that enables the departments to fulfill the mission of the hospital and meet or exceed goals.
- Collaborate with director in the development and implementation of strategic plan and initiatives.
- Collaborate with director for the financial viability of the departments.
- Collaborate with director to support routine staff meetings and Leader Rounding on Employees.
- Ensure the supply of appropriate resources to support the programs, services, organizational structure and staffing levels necessary for quality services.
- Collaborate with director to provide coaching and disciplinary action as required.
- Demonstrate ethical standards in customer service through all interactions with the patients, families, co-workers, staff, other hospital departments, physicians, community and others.
- Create a high quality, professional clinical environment to facilitate the necessary recruitment and retention of appropriate numbers of qualified staff.
- Assist the director to ensure timely assessment of competencies and performance of staff.
- Facilitate educational opportunities for the staff.
- Maintain ethical compliance with regulatory/accreditation agencies.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
- American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
