The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development leadership, web application development, FileMaker administration and development, and AWS infrastructure management. This role requires strategic thinking, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to guide teams in delivering scalable and efficient solutions. This role will require flexible hybrid presence at our headquarters in Grandville, Michigan.
This position is in a hybrid setting Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm and will report to the Vice President of Technology.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and direction for software development projects, ensuring best practices and high-quality code standards.
- Lead and mentor development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, and maintain highly secure patient facing web applications
- Maintain, enhance and engineer FileMaker-based solutions
- Architect and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, prioritize technical initiatives, and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Drive the adoption of modern development methodologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications for performance and reliability.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automation strategies, and DevOps best practices to streamline software deployment and infrastructure management.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in a software development leadership role, managing development teams and projects.
- Strong expertise in web application development and FileMaker development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, security, and automation.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to web and database development, such as Node.js, Vue.js and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Certifications in AWS, FileMaker, or related technologies.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in software development and infrastructure management.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or technical lead role.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field or equivalent experience.
