Overview

The ERM Issues Management Manager will maintain the second line of defense issues management program and report to the FVP-Senior ERM Manager in Enterprise Risk Management department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance Bank-wide issue management processes, including identification, remediation, validation and reporting of issues.
  • Manage Bank-wide issues originating from first, second, and third lines of defense, from external auditors and examiners and self-identified by business owners.
  • Oversee and develop issues management reporting on the status and progress of issue remediations.
  • Enforce outstanding issue due dates by ensuring prompt reporting and escalation.
  • Ensure the escalation and timely reporting of past due, excessive extensions, or failed validation issues.
  • Work with business lines and support teams in the timely reporting of issues.
  • Provide risk and issues trending and risk monitoring reports, as well as trend analysis for Executive Management, risk committees, and Board reporting.
  • Administer the issues management GRC tool and provide support for users.
  • Manage and enhance Issue Management Policy and procedures, including overseeing policy adherence and implementing enhanced policy requirements.
  • Assist and facilitate with the Bank's regulatory examination process.
  • Develop and facilitate issue management training and socialization materials.
  • Keep up-to-date with the industry best practice and new regulations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in risk management, Internal Audit, External Audit, risk management consulting.
  • Experience working in the issue management team and using a GRC platform(s) specifically for issue management.
  • Collaborative team player and relationship builder with strong communication skills. Ability to manage correspondence with all levels of Bank employees including Senior and Executive management.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables by assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to make sound risk/reward decisions and propose practical solutions.
  • Experience in new program and/or process implementations, a plus.
  • Proven proactive approach to problem solving and workflow analysis to identify and implement process improvements
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Must have excellent excel skills, including ability to do data pivots and other data manipulation with large excel data sets (non-financial data) and strong Power Point skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, practices, and expectations for regional/large bank a plus.


Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $125,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
