WAGO is seeking a skilled Senior Sales and Applications Engineer to support our sales and solutions expansion into Data Center applications. This role succeeds with an energetic and passionate self-starter, ready to drive change and pursue excellence at every level. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of technical expertise and sales acumen, enabling them to effectively bridge the gap between engineering and business development.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in industrial automation
  • Strong knowledge of automation technologies and the ability to develop solutions using WAGO's products
  • Proficiency in programming, including:
    • PLC Programming, CODESYS
    • Docker, Linux
    • Fieldbus protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET)
    • Databases and SCADA systems
    • Experience with C, JavaScript, and Python
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to work in a customer-facing role
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside sales teams

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the sales team by developing and presenting technical solutions that align with customer needs
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including system design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Develop demos, training materials, and technical documentation to support sales efforts
  • Conduct training sessions for sales teams, distributors, and customers on automation technologies and best practices
  • Assist in product positioning and strategy, leveraging technical expertise to influence business development
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance WAGO's automation offerings

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to travel via airplane
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Travel estimate up to 50%. International travel and travel to corporate headquarters will also be required on a periodic basis to support sales efforts, provide technical training and collaborate with customers on solution implementation
