Position Summary:
Works to detect, prevent and mitigate safety risks. Provides subject matter expertise on field observations and provides consultation and guidance on corrective action development. Collaborates with and supports line of businesses (LOB) on safety issues. Communicates safety trends and recommends corrective actions. Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the various company-wide safety initiatives.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
This is an hourly paid position. A reasonable wage is:
$50.48 - $77.40 per hour
A reasonable annual salary is:
Bay Area Minimum: $105,000.
Bay Area Maximum: $169,000.
&/OR
California Minimum: $100,000.
California Maximum: $161,000.
Job Responsibilities:
May attend Safety Kickoffs or morning meetings with crews to discuss new safety information.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED
5 years of relevant experience
Must have, or obtain within 1 year from date of hire, an initial level, or higher, safety professional certification (CUSP, CHST, OHST or equivalent).
Desired:
BA/ BS or equivalent experience, preferably in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or science

Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts field and driver observations.
- Periodically supports review of Supervisor's Incident Analysis Packet (SIAP)
- Supports accident investigation team as subject matter expert to help determine causal factors.
- May lead the causal analysis portion of the investigation
- Ensures mutual collaboration with line of business and integrate in all levels of the organization in regards to safety (field employees, grassroots)
- Performs technical safety regulator (Cal/OSHA, OSHA, ANSI) gaps in company requirements for High Risk Project.
- Communicates safety trends and recommends safety corrective actions.
- Coaches LOB supervisors on new safety programs.
- Serves as a Safety subject matter expert for LOB supervisors and field employees.
- Consults with LOB Supervisors on incident investigations, SIAP completion and corrective actions development

Qualifications:

- Advanced knowledge of PG&E safety procedures and the Code of Safe Practices.
- Advanced knowledge of Cal/OSHA general industry and construction safety orders and basic knowledge of other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA, Fed/OSHA, etc.).
- Proficient at conducting and evaluating root cause analysis investigations and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Proficient at conducting hazard evaluations for complex jobs and recommending appropriate controls.
- Knowledge of job safety analysis
- Knowledge of quality corrective action understanding.
- Knowledge of office and field ergonomics.
- Demonstrates skill in delivering clear, understandable oral presentations to groups.
