POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to drive new business
opportunities, gain market share, and build revenue generation, from the ground up. The ideal candidate will
have a proven track record in sales and business development within the healthcare, workforce planning, or
software industries. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies,
managing a team of sales professional(s), and building strong relationships with clients to drive business
growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software sales, exceptional leadership skills, and
the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Your expertise in the software industry, combined
with your ability to inspire and motivate your team, will be key to achieving our business objectives. This
position requires a strategic thinker who can balance short-term sales goals with long-term growth strategies
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Business Development - 80%
Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and expand market share
Stay up-to-date on market trends, competition, and industry development
Develop and execute business development strategies to drive business growth and market penetration.
Cultivate and map out relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry leaders, that are critical to business expansion.
Attend and represent the company at conferences, tradeshows, and industry events to network, promote services, and stay ahead of market trends.
Lead the preparation and completion of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other documentation required to secure new business opportunities and partnerships.
Negotiate and close high-value deals with clients, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and company objectives.
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, effectively
communicating the value proposition of our product
Team Management - 20%
Manages daily operations of direct reports, ensuring they meet daily metrics and budget goals
Directs team processes and procedures; ensures work is completed in accordance with Company
standards
Trains, develops, and motivates associates to achieve desired goals
Assists in creation of team contests; implements associate engagement strategies
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)
May work on special projects or other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY
Communicates with external vendors and service providers
QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
Proven successful track record of 8+ years in business development sales within the healthcare, workforce planning or software industries
Demonstrated success in driving new business growth and achieving sales targets
Experience working in a startup environment or with early-stage companies is a plus
