Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - CT
Job Specialty: Computed Tomography (CT)
Job Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Days, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Mon-Fri
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: One year of related experience
License: ARRT Certification
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) Required
- ACLS (AHA) Preferred
- PALS (AHA) Preferred
Must-Have: Application of radiation safety practices, time management, patient care skills
Job Description:
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams while being sensitive to patient needs.
- Follow safe radiation practices, aiming to minimize exposure.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists.
- Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel, ensuring current standards of practice.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instructions to them and their families.
- Assist and position patients during exams, observing and documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Input charges and data for procedures and supplies used during exams.
- Complete necessary paperwork for each exam.
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment and report any issues.
- Keep the work area clean for employees and patients.
- Maintain quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.
- Proactively identify problems and follow up with management.
- Establish a motivating rapport with physicians and staff.
- Maintain and enhance skills through ongoing education and professional activities.
- Participate in clinical training for students and staff technologists.
- Engage actively in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation processes as requested.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Adapt to changing technologies, policies, regulations, and staffing through flexibility.
- Floating may be required to any location within a 60-mile radius as per policy and may include duties outside of original assignment requirements.
