Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
As a Navigation Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Develop and validate vehicle and environment models to simulate Navigation/GPS algorithm performance and robustness
- Evaluate technical documents, determine sufficiency for demonstrating compliance with specification and airworthiness, summarize findings, recommend changes, and communicate all results to the program office.
- Represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff.
- Analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment.
- Formulate mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design according to customer engineering requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and generate risk mitigation plans and strategies using DoD Risk Management methodology and procedures.
- Understand and work well within Integrated Product Team (IPT) organizational structures to deliver timely results.
Qualifications
- Experience in guidance, navigation, and control algorithm design and validation
- Experience with GPS and inertial sensors
- Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences or demonstrated comparable experience with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of system engineering principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office products
