Clinical Pharmacy Specialist /Pharmacy Residency Program Director
Job Summary
- Maintains ultimate responsibility for resident training, supervision, formal evaluation and program policies and procedures.
- Maintains compliance with all ASHP accreditation regulations regarding residency programs, including documentation and reporting requirements
- Fosters positive relationships with other healthcare professionals within the practice setting.
- Evaluates potential resident applicants, selecting the most qualified candidates.
- Oversees the ongoing assessment of resident performance throughout the program
- Designs the residency curriculum, including rotations, learning objectives, and educational experiences, ensuring it aligns with ASHP standards and meets the needs of the practice setting.
- Manages preceptor development, providing training to effectively guide and evaluate residents during rotations.
- Provides guidance and support to residents throughout their residency, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Monitors and evaluates the residency program's effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance resident learning.
- Performs duties outlined in the role of clinical pharmacy specialist.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Training:
- RPD must meet qualifications outlined in ASHP Regulations on Accreditation of Pharmacy Residencies
Education:
- PharmD Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, required
- Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy OR eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina, required. Licensure required within 3 months of hire.
