Job Summary
QSAC is searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing who has experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000 annually.
The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing all day to day operations regarding the medical well-being of the people receiving supports. This position will be responsible for site visits to multiple locations throughout, Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Long Island.
Responsibilities
Medical Administration/Compliance
Conduct random audits of medical policies & procedures to ensure compliance
Maintains compliance with OPWDD regulations at all times
Respond to all emergent situations
Administer PPD's to staff and individuals
Assist with medical policy development
Consult with MD's to ensure optimal medical treatments are provided to people being supported
Work closely with clinicians to plan best course of treatment for maximum health of people being supported
Ensure certifications are up to date for all medical staff
Provide telephone triage as needed
Be available 24/7 for on-call support via QSAC phone
Training & Management
Provide training and in services for Nurses and Medical Coordinators
Supervise Nursing Staff and Medical Coordinators
Conduct monthly staff meetings and attend all meetings, committee/specialty, and provide feedback to staff
Provide AMAP, CPI 2, enteral feeding training to AMAP staff
Travel to different locations throughout NYC and Long Island is required
Qualifications & Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's with 3- 5 years RN experience required
Valid driver's license is required to conduct site visits to multiple sites/Residences
1-3 years of staff management experience required
1-3 years of staff training experience highly preferred
Maintains a cooperative relationship among teams by communicating information; responding to requests, building rapport & participating in team problem-solving methods
In-depth knowledge of OPWDD/legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
Excellent team management skills are essential
