Responsibilities
As the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology, you will be responsible for driving excellence in IT software product delivery and ensuring client satisfaction. This hands-on leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of IT management and a strong focus on client relationships. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team of business analysts and developers, aligning IT services with business goals, and elevating the overall customer experience through effective technology solutions. This role is responsible for managing the software development life cycle on the IT Team's stand-alone efforts as well as in partnership with Berkley Technology Services and other Berkley entities.

Responsibilities
As the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology, you will be responsible for driving excellence in IT software product delivery and ensuring client satisfaction. This hands-on leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of IT management and a strong focus on client relationships. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team of business analysts and developers, aligning IT services with business goals, and elevating the overall customer experience through effective technology solutions. This role is responsible for managing the software development life cycle on the IT Team's stand-alone efforts as well as in partnership with Berkley Technology Services and other Berkley entities.
Leadership & Strategy:
- Participate in strategic leadership of IT functions, aligning IT services with business goals and objectives
- Develop and communicate a plan for software delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellence
- Collaborate with senior leadership, integrating the IT Team with business strategies to ensure that IT continues to meet organizational needs
Process Optimization:
- Oversee design, implementation, and optimization of IT processes, including Data Governance, IT Compliance and software development life cycle processes
- Continuously evaluate and improve IT processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of IT services
- Implement best practices and industry standards to ensure a consistent and effective approach to IT deliverables
Team Management:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members, encouraging continuous skill enhancement and career growth
- Establish succession plans and talent development strategies to ensure a strong and capable IT team
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and expectations, ensuring IT contributes to overall organizational success
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to gather feedback and make data-driven improvements to technology deliverables
Product Management:
- Continue to evolve and optimize in-house software development, including but not limited to:
- Data Warehousing
- Web Applications
- XML File Transfers
- ETL Data Processes
- SharePoint Sites
- Management Reporting
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT Management, with 3-5 years in a leadership role, managing team size of 15 or more
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing IT processes
- Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM framework and other relevant industry standards
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align IT services with business objectives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of emerging technologies
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
