The Job
The Department of Behavioral Health, Office of Compliance (DBH Compliance) and Human Services Program Integrity Division (PID) are recruiting for Case Review Specialists who collect and analyze information, and produce detailed reports. These positions perform case and policy review, which includes information gathering and analysis, interviewing key individuals, gathering documents, preparing reports, and working closely with department Management, HR, County Counsel, and Risk Management. Positions within PID may alsoserve as hearing officers over administrative Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) hearings.
*Current vacancies are within DBH Compliance. The resulting eligible list may be used to fill additional vacancies as they occur throughout the County.
DBH Compliance:
Investigates allegations of fraud/waste/abuse and/or conduct violations received from DBH staff, contractors and/or external entities; researches licensing board requirements and ethics codes, and pertinent regulation(s); completes in-field contract monitoring of contract agencies, develops comprehensive reports and provides technical assistance; investigates complaints of non-compliance, potential fraud, waste and/or abuse, including conduct violations; investigates privacy violations and potential/actual privacy breaches; conducts legislative research, makes recommendations based on department impacts and formulates required policies, procedures, and notices; makes recommendations for corrective action(s) and monitors mitigative efforts and corrective action adherence; researches pending and/or passed legislation and writes comprehensive reports.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet both the Experience and Education requirements:
EducationThirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education in law and justice, administration of justice, behavioral/social science, or business/public administration, at least half of the units (15 semester / 23 quarter) must be upper division units (300 level coursework or higher) to be considered qualifying.
Note: A list of completed college coursework or a legible copy of transcripts MUST be submitted if the applicant does not possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in one the qualifying fields of study listed above.
Experience
Two (2) years of full-time investigative or evidence gathering experience in a liability, legal, risk management, healthcare compliance and/or other investigative environment.

Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, have experience with the computer systems in various Human Services departments and possess excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
