The President of the Barrow Neurological Foundation (BNF) and Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) for Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) has primary responsibility and accountability for the overall performance of the Barrow Neurological Foundation. This position provides the leadership and direction to create fundraising strategies and philanthropic programs designed to meet the objectives and financial needs of BNI, oversees the implementation and execution of these strategies and programs, and manages the BNF professional fundraising and support staff.
This position reports to the BNI President and CEO through the BNI Chief Operating Officer, and is an ex-officio member with voting rights of the BNF Board of Trustees. As a member of the BNF Board of Trustees, this position facilitates Board planning and oversight activities, and works cooperatively with the Chair of the BNF Board of Trustees, the Chairs of other BNF Standing Committees, and the Chair of the Barrow Women's Board.

Responsibilities
- Provides philanthropic leadership and vision in working with the BNF Board of Trustees, the Barrow Women's Board, and BNI leadership.
- Partners with the Barrow Women's Board to promote the continued success of fundraising through the Barrow Grand Ball.
- Leads and directs a wide range of fundraising initiatives, and personally manages seven figure gift solicitations.
- Recruits, develops, and manages high-quality staff and promotes a culture of collaboration, integration, open communication, team work, and timely decision making.
- Cultivates relationships with grateful patients and their families, community leaders, philanthropists, physicians and others which will lead to gift solicitations.
- Directs and oversees the receipt of charitable gifts and the financial stewardship of these gifts. Provides comprehensive, timely, and innovative stewardship reports in a manner that strengthens donor commitment to BNI.
- Builds trust and interest in BNI clinical services, research, and medical education with key benefactors and new donor prospects.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 10 years of fundraising experience and proven success in a not-for-profit, academic, healthcare, or research setting.
- 5 years of fundraising management experience and leadership experience in working closely with senior executives, major donors, and volunteer boards.
- Demonstrated understanding of the gift development process and in building philanthropic relationships.
