Department Overview
In Utility Partnerships & Innovation (UP&I), we are focused on delivering the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. UP&I, PG&E's Building Electrification & Efficiency Programs (BEEP) is responsible for implementing and administering customer demand side management programs, including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate option programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. PG&E has been a national leader in energy efficiency since 1976 and continues to recruit and develop individuals to carry the BEEP Department's legacy of effective energy efficiency programs on into the future.
This position is on the Industrial, Agricultural and Water Energy Efficiency Programs team (IAW) within the Energy Efficiency group. This team is responsible for managing an over $20 million portfolio of energy efficiency programs targeting the Industrial and Agricultural sectors. The IAW team manages a large diverse set of third party-implemented programs along with PG&E's core energy efficiency offering.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing PG&E's EE Industrial and Agricultural portfolio, which includes a Statewide program administration, and overseeing employees who manage specialized third-party energy efficiency programs. This team works on programs that interface with some of our largest energy-using customers and organizations. These are high-touch programs that require the ability to resolve extremely technical issues.
The position requires a flexible, results-oriented approach as well as involves leading process improvement initiatives and coordinating with various departments throughout PG&E. The successful candidate will have experience designing, implementing, or managing complex, multifaceted enterprise programs that are integrated with business customer-centric strategies as well as collaboratively working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer commitments are met and programs are successful.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The work location is Oakland, CA.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

Job Responsibilities

- Provides effective leadership and employee development through goal setting and the performance evaluation process, development planning process, and provides frequent open and honest feedback. Coaches and mentors individuals to improve their knowledge and skills.
- Manages daily work activities and Lean Operating Reviews; reviews and approves priorities that prevent or delay day-to-day operations. Escalation to Manager or above, as needed.
- Develops and manage to a set of meaningful metrics to demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the team on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Provide oversight on sector-level financial and savings forecasts to ensure they are complete, reasonable, and in line with sector expectations
- Manages overall efforts to improve cost-effectiveness, and improve implementation to contribute to overall portfolio performance
- Oversees implementation and monitoring of programs and operations in alignment with the Industrial, Agricultural, and Statewide Sector strategies and goals.
- Provides strategy and direction on Industrial and Agricultural sector and market needs, and evaluates solutions to address needs, ensuring wise investments of our customers' EE funds.
- Participates in the evaluation of Industrial and Agricultural EE program solicitations.
- Oversees contract strategy, negotiations, and management of program implementers and partners
- Promotes cross-functional cooperation and coordination with key internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinates internal and external communications regarding policy and program changes
- Develops and maintains an understanding of energy efficiency channels/customers as well as company issues and potential operational impacts
- Manage sector-level regulatory filings such as Portfolio Plan Applications and Mid-Cycle Advice Letters
- Play an active role in guiding conversations with the ED and other stakeholders to improve the customer participation experience
- Ensures compliance with all safety/regulatory/company requirements
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of related experience
Desired:
- Experience with managing energy efficiency programs
- Experience with implementing process improvement strategies
- Demonstrated ability to present findings, make recommendations and influence decisions
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of contracting procedures and compliance protocols
- Experience working with large business customer entities
- Technical expertise with energy efficiency products and/or system database administration (specifically Salesforce application)
- Master in Business/Public Administration or equivalent experience Supervisory experience
