St Julien Hotel & Spa is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to oversee a team of Sales Managers and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate should be keenly focused on generating new business while retaining current business, and should demonstrate a collaborative leadership approach, strong communication and decision-making abilities, and strategic business insight.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Maximize current key Hotel accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
  • Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve the Hotel's revenue goals; adjust sales plans according to changes in business and/or marketing trends.
  • Solicit and negotiate business with new and existing clients through daily prospecting, outside sales calls, e-communications, referrals and networking.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and opportunities for business growth.
  • Aggressively pursue the market mix and type of group/transient business which will best position the Hotel to meet or exceed the budgeted goals for sales, profit, and occupancy.
  • Plan and implement an ongoing Targeted Account Development List in order to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts, and contracts.
  • Travel as necessary to conduct outside sales calls and attend trade shows/presentations to promote the Hotel, build brand awareness, and develop new business.
  • Set and monitor productivity goals for the Hotel's Sales team - providing the guidance, mentorship, and motivation necessary to implement effective sales strategies and to maximize Hotel sales/revenues.
  • Develop departmental budget and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan; accurately report variances/projections.
  • Assist in preparing and overseeing marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
  • Utilize yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments in order to enhance the Hotel's financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the Hotel's Events team to secure and manage group bookings, conferences, and special events.
  • Work closely with other Hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Prepare, compile, and implement data for weekly reports, annual goals, departmental budget, forecasts, and/or other reports as directed.
  • Network and engage with local community organizations to support business growth and maintain the Hotel's reputation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sales Director or Manager in a luxury, full-service hospitality setting. Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully achieving personal performance metrics.
  • Prior experience in each stage of sourcing, qualifying, booking, and servicing group business.
  • Working knowledge of travel industry and market trends.
  • Must be able to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • General computer literacy and proficiency using MS Office products.
  • Must have dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, to tour property and attend functions, to climb stairs, and operate basic office equipment.
