The Microsoft Solutions Architect is focused on scaling sales and engineering efforts in their local market while working with strategic customers to architect, design, and evaluate Microsoft-based solutions. This role will partner with CompuNet's local Engineering teams, Account Executives, Engineering Directors, and Managers to develop and maintain standardized architecture frameworks that evolve with CompuNet's Microsoft technology portfolios. Solutions Architects will also peer with Principal Engineers to ensure a feedback loop between architecture design and successful implementation.
Members of the Solutions Architect team come from diverse backgrounds, typically including a combination of experience in engineering, technical marketing, product marketing, product management, and sales. This broad expertise enables the team to develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and market trends, driving optimal solution development.
As a Microsoft Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial role in supporting CompuNet's clients and internal teams. Your ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate technical expertise, build strong relationships, and solve complex business challenges will be essential to success.
This role requires experience with a mix of on-prem, hybrid, and cloud Microsoft technologies, a strong grasp of IT operations, and strategic business acumen. You must be able to architect solutions that align business requirements with Microsoft technologies, ensuring operational effectiveness and measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do
Strategy & Architecture
- Define a strategic vision for Microsoft solutions, creating a technology roadmap that enables business agility, scalability, and innovation.
- Architect solutions across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Power Platform, Active Directory, and Intune endpoint management, ensuring seamless user experience and operational efficiency
- Evaluate and recommend Microsoft technologies that optimize efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Stay ahead of Microsoft and industry trends, educating internal teams and clients on new technologies and best practices.
Pre-Sales & Solution Development
- Frequent pre-sales activities, working alongside Sales and Engineering teams to define Microsoft solutions for customers.
- Engage in customer discussions, translating business needs into Microsoft-based technology solutions.
- Develop standardized architectures and methodologies for Microsoft technologies to ensure consistency across projects.
- Assist in creating proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and technical presentations.
Project Oversight & Execution
- Engage in post-sales engagements as required, ensuring the successful implementation of Microsoft solutions in collaboration with our broader Microsoft Engineering team.
- Collaborate with Engineering Directors and Managers to validate project scopes and technical approaches.
- Support Engineering teams during project delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex Microsoft-related challenges.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with specialist engineers across various disciplines to integrate Microsoft solutions into broader architecture.
- Peer with local Solutions Engineers to mentor and support strategic accounts.
- Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft and technology vendors, driving innovation and alignment with CompuNet's strategy.
- Assist Engineering Leadership in recruiting, interviewing and hiring efforts.
- Contribute to internal technical discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technology strategy meetings.
Client & Vendor Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers navigate complex Microsoft environments.
- Be an active participant in local technology communities and events.
- Develop content for and present at technical education sessions and events.
- Tailor customer engagements to meet Microsoft partnership and funding guidelines.
- Maintain or achieve relevant industry certifications and assist with vendor compliance requirements (White papers, blogs, certifications, etc.)
- Engage in customer discussions, effectively communicating Microsoft capabilities in a business context
