Experience:

Five (5) years of full-time or its equivalent experience as a project manager or health systems analyst leading and managing projects, including (2) two years in a health care information systems environment, working with end users to extract, document and optimize data flow, implement systems, and support applications and databases.

Certification:

Possession of a current PMP (Project Management Professional) certification issued by Project Management Institute

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Health information exchanges and standard healthcare message formats Principles and practices of information technology project management Time management and organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Typical Tasks

• Develops, reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding requirements, sources, and, limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
• Manages or oversees the implementation and integration of assigned projects from inception to user sign-off. Acts as liaison between users, designers, technical personnel, and vendors.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for selection or assignment of project personnel
• Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget

• Prepares status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required and prepares project reports for management, client, or others
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
• Attends planning and construction meetings
• Coordinates technical aspects of information technology and telecommunications projects
• Meets with users to determine needs
• Establishes performance criteria, ensuring that customer and Health Services requirements are being met.
• Works with requestor to define project scope and prepare project specifications. Conducts project meetings, and coordinates procurement, as appropriate.
