Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Director, Data & Analytics Cancer Center.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for interacting with the cancer center, medical center, and health system administration to oversee the data and analytics practice of the Perlmutter Cancer Center throughout the NYU Langone Health System. This high-visibility role will represent PCC Analytics at Leadership meetings and serve as a trusted advisor to operations and clinical teams. It will support the Director with the provision of clinical and operational information and analysis for all levels of management in support of clinical and operational objectives, cost management opportunities, and clinical program evaluation. In this regard, manages large and complex databases and is responsible for developing and maintaining standard and ad hoc reports per customer needs. This role will serve as a subject matter expert and strategic operator to ensure effective and informed decision making by senior leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee data collection, maintenance, and verification from clinical and operational systems and evaluate the data for reasonableness.
Support partnership between other clinical and operational departments to improve information reporting. Responsible for understanding and communicating relevant clinical and operational issues.Foster and demonstrate collaborative relationships with other disciplines
Work closely with leadership to prioritize the teams efforts to drive enterprise-centric outcomes that are aligned with the institutions strategic roadmaps.
Participate as a fundamental guiding member in joint decision-making for enterprise initiatives related to data analytics
Communicates clearly and concisely with customers at all levels, including physicians, nurses, and Senior Leadership
Proactively identifies and relays to leadership areas of potential improvement for the organization.
Supports the development and analysis of data from various sources.
Serve as the key liaison with the strategy and operations teams for data and analytics initiatives while providing regular updates and insights to leadership.
Support the professional development of team members through training, mentorship, and performance feedback
Sets timelines and deliverables for analysts on key deliverables & analyses
Designs strategic roadmap for expansion of Perlmutter Cancer Center analytics
Collaborates with the research teams to ensure parity with NYU PCC Data Hub and operational reporting
Monitors accuracy and coherence of metric definitions and results
Proactively defines and develops key data points and reporting to expand team and department capabilities
Works collaboratively with other analytic teams and the Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) teams
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors and masters degree (or equivalent work experience) in business, healthcare administration, statistics, computer science, analytics, or related field and at least five years of supervision and managerial experience overseeing analytics teams in a large hospital setting or related field. Must have leadership expertise, time management skills, and ability to work well under pressure. Experience working with large data sets and related IT systems. Coding experience in at least 2 query languages

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96 $162,649.75 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
