Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Analyst I.


In this role, the successful Sr. Analyst I will help with business goals and determine the workflow and technical requirements for implementation of a new Digital Pathology Solution. This work will require a detailed understanding of the clinical education and research workflows at NYU Langone. Responsible for the overall direction management and the performance of the Clinical and Anatomic Laboratory assigned applications by ensuring consistency processes and effective operations maintenance site parameters and security levels. Accountable for the results and functionality of assigned applications, including Digital Pathology. Collaborates internally and externally to solve problems and issues with the assigned systems. The Digital Pathology Lead System Analyst DPLSA works with team members to map the labs workflow, review IT infrastructure requirements, review security requirements, understand network requirements and determine integration details to NYU s Laboratory Information System EPIC Beaker LIS The DPLSA will assist in transforming the current analog pathology workflow to a full digital pathology solution


Job Responsibilities:


Administrator of the new Digital Pathology Philips System. The ideal candidate will have experience with Healthcare Imaging systems or clinical Ancillary systems and have worked in Healthcare IT

Manages within the constraints of scope, quality, and time to ensure delivery of specified service requirements successfully

Responsible for troubleshooting, systems upgrades and regulatory compliance within both the clinical and anatomic pathology systems- as well as the reference laboratory interfacing along with various other ancillarysystems.

Primarily oversee Digital Pathology solutions including scanner integrations, integration with Lab information systems , VNA, PACS, and cloud based storage

Comprehensive understanding of the Anatomic Pathology workflow and Digital Pathology workflow

Performs other duties as assigned

Ensures clinicians experience is optimized and Looks for ways to streamline processes and tools.

Ensures department processes comply with regulatory requirements standards are followed and met.

Checks all interfacing to and from hospital system, Meaningful Use with DOH (Dept of Health) interface, Reference Lab interface

Manages and monitors Security of assigned lab system to ensure proper functioning.

Prepares, communicates and maintain plans, ensuring all requirements and objectives are properly documented budgets are managed.

Documents all specific maintenance performed for regulatory compliance.

Assist with establishing policies, guidelines, metrics and templates.

Reviews LIS interfacing and monitors systems status, system errors, system messages, faxing, printing, auto printing, scheduled reports, collection lists, labels, Analytics, Dashboards, updates and modifications.

Responsible for verifying results, reviewing appropriate patient data in notification and presentation. Recognizes system failures and takes effective corrective action to resolve.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor s Degree in IT or a Clinical Laboratory Science or related field

2 years Laboratory Information Systems or IT role

2 years of experience

Ability to work independently, interact with, and maintain functional relationships with personnel at all levels within and outside of the organization

Excellent communication, both oral and written

Interpersonal, analytical, planning, multitasking, detail orientation, problem solving and organizational skills

Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

Ability to work independently to handle multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines and expectations

Ability to collect and aggregate data, gather information and data, systematically track and trend to establish facts and principles and generate KPIs

Preferred Qualifications:


Masters Degree Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field

Knowledge of Medical Imaging

Applications to include: Digital Pathology, Radiology and Lab imaging solutions

Healthcare background experience and performance that promotes a high level of credibility with clinical professionals

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 $158,219.84 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
