About This Office

Dental Hygienist - Songstad Dental Group (Nashville, TN)

Position: Full-Time Dental Hygienist

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience Level: New graduates welcome

Preferred Skills: Dentrix experience (preferred but not required)

Songstad Dental Group is seeking a dedicated and personable Dental Hygienist to join our compassionate and professional team. We are looking for a fast learner who is a team player with a bubbly personality and a strong ability to connect with both patients and colleagues. A passion for patient education and delivering top-quality care is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
  • Take and review digital X-rays as needed
  • Conduct periodontal assessments and charting
  • Assist in diagnosing and treating periodontal disease
  • Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Stay current on the latest dental hygiene techniques and industry advancements
  • Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients of all ages


Qualifications:

  • Active Tennessee Dental Hygiene license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to educate and motivate patients regarding their oral health
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Experience with Dentrix is a plus, but not required

Qualifications:
  • Current dental hygienist license
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • CPR Certification


Preferred Experience
  • Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
  • Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
  • Clinical needs as required by office
