Job description
Validates manufacturing process proposed by Suppliers for production.
Extracts and provides Dossier Validation Industrialization (DVI) / Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) files and provide to Supplier for submittal.
Approves all SAP DVI P.O.s. placed prior to release to the Supplier
Reviews and approve applicable gates in the DVI / PPAP process (Form 0 / Form 4 / Form 6)
Reviews, approves and administers Supplier DVI / PPAP documentation.
Represents SQA on industrialization teams to ensure all industrialization milestones are complete in a timely fashion.
Verifies Suppliers qualifications and approvals are in compliance to the drawing requirements.
During industrializations, supports Suppliers queries and Request For Drawing Change (RFDC) submittals and tracks to closure.
Performs Supplier training on Safran requirements & process to ensure the production of parts.
During industrializations assist with Engineering investigations (liaison between Supplier / Engineering/Procurement/Purchasing)
During industrializations performs Supplier Quality performance reviews with Suppliers.
Support daily QRQC Boards providing feedback and obtaining answers to identified issues.
Backup team members when they are out of office.
During industrializations, raise and close Quality Notifications Condition Of Supply Authorization (COSA) in SAP as required by Procurement/Planning.
Supports SQFL with certification audits.
Validate part to drawing requirements as part of the DVI approval process.
During industrializations, supports incoming inspection queries.
Candidate skills & requirements
Skills and Core Competencies:
A strong background (5+ Years) in quality and/or manufacturing engineering in the aerospace industry.
Strong knowledge of the Company's quality system, processes and specifications.
Strong problem solving with critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent Judgement/Decision making skills.
Experienced in/knowledge of machining, NDT, special processing and assembly of landing gear parts and assembly processes.
Experience in/knowledge of raw materials and forgings processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management and including Supplier management
Good computer (Microsoft office products), analytical, statistical and interpretative skills.
In depth knowledge of the PPAP process and requirements in an APQP environment.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently.
Ability to work safely, adhering to any Health and Safety policy as well as maintain a high level of 5S for a clean and safe work environment.
Ability to read drawings and understand / work in or with Catia models through our Enovia system.
Ability to Present to Suppliers and internal personnel.
Good Negotiation skills and time management skills.
Education and/or Certifications: Preferably a Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) / Quality Inspector (CQI) / Quality Engineer (CQE)
Specialized Knowledge: A strong Quality background in the Aerospace or Automotive industry is preferred. Knowledge of Aerospace raw material grades, NDT, H/T, and special processing part requirements for various class levels of parts. Familiarity of Landing gear manufacturing and Assembly practices and Quality requirements. Knowledge of measuring instruments to be used and when, as well as test equipment required for specific applications with extensive working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical components.
