Senior Manager, Supply Chain

Job Summary:

Effectively manages a full team of supply-chain resources to successfully drive the necessary behaviors and results which achieve MACOMs overall supply chain objectives.Has the ability to manage this activity with little guidance and/or direction from others.



Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage backlog to ensure that customers delivery commitments/requirements are met.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with MACOM relevant contract manufacturers as well as internal manufacturing (& Fab) teams.
  • Manage and mentor staff of supply chain planners, supervisors and/or supply chain managers.
  • Monitor supplier capacity to ensure sufficient capacity is available to support Master Production Plan.
  • Monitors the status of open purchase orders including delivery and quality issues that may affect the Master Production Plan.
  • Lead and facilitate internal teams and supplier meetings.
  • Maintain and input material data into planning system.
  • Works diligently with Quality, Engineering and Strategic Sourcing departments to develop mechanisms that will improve quality, provide realistic schedules, standardize processes and reduce costs.
  • Works with Strategic Sourcing Team to develop new sources of supply where necessary to improve performance, reduce cost and reduce supply base.
  • Has the ability to successfully process map new supply chain supplier/customer solutions ensuring full ERP/Inventory transactions are executed successfully.


Key Competencies Required:

  • Has a Proven ability to lead and manage team of planners (at manager level).
  • Has demonstrated successful results managing a supply chain team internally and/or externally to MACOM.
  • Strong business acumen along with excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be able to manage, motivate and energize.
  • Direct reports, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel if/when required.
  • Must be a leader of change and be able to gain consensus on how to drive process change to improve business results.
  • Must possess the ability to develop schedules to meet specific objectives, establish priorities.
  • Willingness to make decisions without hesitation and getting things done in a timely fashion with sense of urgency.
  • Has a strong ability to proactively identify, communicate and apply problem solving techniques.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree &/or relevant work experience with demonstrated abilities/knowledge for this specific role.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of managing and/or supervising people ideally specific to supply chain activities.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in planning &/or supply chain management.
  • Strong ERP system management experience with the ability of defining best practices to setup and maintain key supply chain traceability (preferably SAP, Oracle and/or other well known ERP platforms).
  • Strong Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint & word).
