Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Shift: Day, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

License: ARDMS or ARRT (S) required
Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) required
Must-Have: Graduate of a comprehensive Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound program, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Sonography, Experience in breast and general ultrasound.
Job Description:
- Prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.
- Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Provide adequate patient care related to the exam requested.
- Operate ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency.
- Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient.
- Assist Radiologist in performing invasive procedures.
- Evaluate the technical quality of exams and develop a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency.
- Support and contribute to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding the role in meeting patient needs.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
- Operate the Radiology computer system, including entering and charging exams and supplies.
- Maintain assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion, ensuring it is fully stocked.
- Adhere to departmental rules and regulations while maintaining professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, with assistance as needed.
- Work involves walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting during normal operations.
- Requires mental skills to read and comprehend patient orders and technical materials.
- Motor coordination is needed to operate heavy and delicate equipment.
- Intact senses of sight and hearing are required.
