Position Title: Sacramento Site Director
Location: Sacramento, California (onsite)
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Job Summary:
The Sacramento Site Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of a composites manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing budgets, and leading a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, particularly in the composites industry, and possess excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management team to ensure the seamless flow of materials, resources, and processes from/to vendors
- Ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production managers, supervisors, and operators.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products meet or exceed customer specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
- Address and resolve any quality issues in a timely manner.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the facility's operational budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team to promote a culture of safety and ensure that all employees follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in composites manufacturing technology.
- Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and best practices.
Customer Relations:
- Collaborate with the Business Development and Program Management teams to understand customer requirements and expectations.
- Ensure timely delivery of products and address any customer concerns or issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute operational strategies to support the company's overall business objectives.
- Participate in long-term planning and contribute to the development of the facility's growth and expansion plans.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on operational performance and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the composites industry.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
