Sr. Business Development Lead, Wondery

Description:
We are looking for a Sr. Business Development leader to join the Wondery Product, Data, and Tech (PDT) team to drive business development for the subscription, video, and ad-supported podcast businesses and oversee key distribution partnerships globally with a particular focus on internal Amazon growth opportunities. The role will focus on increasing the reach and monetization of Wondery content by identifying, establishing, and growing 1P and 3P distribution opportunities across the premium and ad-supported business.
This role reports to the Head of Wondery+.
Key job responsibilities
* Lead global business development initiatives for Wondery, including Wondery+, video (e.g., FAST channels, AVOD), and wide feed distribution
* Identify and pursue partnerships to expand Wondery's presence in existing and new territories in areas
* Develop and execute new strategies to increase sign-ups and engagement on 1P services (including any Amazon surfaces/businesses in collaboration with Wondery Strategy and PDT teams
* Manage business relationships with key distribution partners, including Apple, Patreon, Spotify, and coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, Product, and Digital Operations on partner specific opportunities and issues to hit our OKRs
* Create robust models to evaluate opportunities and partner with Finance team on reporting business performance to Wondery leadership and broader Amazon organization
* Oversee technology licensing related to Wondery's podcast distribution and subscription services in collaboration with PDT teams
* Perform ad-hoc data analysis to identify insights and actionable recommendations to grow the overall business

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- MBA preferred
- Background it tech, media, or entertainment
- Previous podcasting experience preferred but not necessary
- Understanding of platforms and distribution technology and businesses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
