Job Summary

We are seeking a Financial Project Manager to oversee project planning, execution, and coordination for financial technology initiatives. The role requires a hybrid approach-Waterfall planning and Agile execution-where the PM will create structured plans in MS Project while managing execution through Jira.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, managing project artifacts in Confluence, and ensuring smooth project execution. While not responsible for project budgeting, the PM will focus on managing multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities, and ensuring timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans using MS Project, ensuring structured execution.
• Break down project plans into stories/tasks in Jira for team execution.
• Coordinate with business analysts, QA teams, and technical leads to ensure smooth project progress.
• Manage project documentation and artifacts within Confluence following internal standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams without having full control over resources-prioritization and negotiation will be key.
• Oversee financial application upgrades, ensuring coordination between internal teams and external vendors.
• Support internal process improvements, including API integrations, mini-application development, and system enhancements.
• Provide status updates to key business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Project Management in a financial or technology-related domain.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly in execution (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with MS Project, Jira, and Confluence.
• Background in financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS17) or system integration projects (e.g., Snowflake, Origami) is a plus.
• Ability to manage projects with varying team structures-experience working without dedicated Agile teams is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in an environment where QA, process reengineering, and solutions architecture play a role in project execution.

Additional Considerations

• We are open to molding a conscientious, less experienced candidate who is eager to learn.
• More experienced candidates should be comfortable with the scope and limitations of the role, which is focused on execution rather than strategic budgeting or high-level business engagement.
