Location: 5210 E & C Stormwater
Pay Grade: A18
FLSA Status: Exempt
Under general supervision, performs construction and engineering duties in support of City construction projects.
Essential Job Functions
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain certification as an Engineer Intern, or as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma, within six months of employment.
Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert minimal physical effort in sedentary work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Essential Job Functions
- Prepares agreements and monitors architectural and engineering firms during the design of city infrastructure, buildings, and parks.
- Reviews and interprets design plans and construction specifications to ensure compliance with standards and codes.
- Reviews bid tabulation; conducts evaluations of low bidders.
- Prepares agenda items and fact sheets for City Council, Broken Arrow Municipal Authority, and Broken Arrow Economic Development Authority approval or denial.
- Completes engineering design of in-house city projects; prepares bidding documents for construction contracts; supervises the preparation of plan documents; prepares site plans.
- Reviews private and public development engineering design projects for compliance with standards and codes.
- Reviews private and public water, sanitary sewer, streets, and stormwater system designs.
- Performs field investigations and job site visits related to potential or ongoing projects or public safety issues.
- Performs duties in support of the floodplain management program.
- Prepares reports; writes memoranda and correspondence.
- Perform duties in support of the stormwater quality program.
- Prepares and submits required federal, state, and local permits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- The City offers a 401(a) defined contribution retirement plan through the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund (OMRF). The City contributes 10% of the employees' earnings into the plan. Employees become 20% vested after three years and vesting increases 20% for each additional year of service until 100% vesting is achieved at seven years. Employees may elect to contribute an additional amount.
- The City also offers access to a 457 retirement plan, both traditional and Roth, through Mission Square retirement.
