Business Systems Analysts are responsible for serving as liaisons between the education, research, and administrative functions of the firm and the IT organization. Individuals successful in this role will collect, analyze, develop, document, and communicate business requirements and support user testing to achieve business goals. Business Systems Analysts collaborate with IT professionals to determine whether appropriate internal or external solutions currently exist, or new solutions are required and feasible. Business Systems Analysts must be able to understand, discuss, and work with a broad range of technologies and potential solutions to best serve the business units they support.

- Serve as a technical lead with resource and people management responsibilities.
- Support one or more highly complex business processes, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.
- Lead and provide direction for short-and long-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals and direction.
- Prioritize immediate business needs and recommend options, risks and, cost vs. benefits.
- Lead agile development.
- Proactively identify technology opportunities that support Institute strategies and performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and draft proposals for evaluation by appropriate users and managers.
- Develop business cases and presentations.
- Provide recommendations for business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
- Assist departmental web developers with content and hosting applications.
- Review and approve test plans.
- Establish measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and Institute goals.
- Document and present performance assessments.
- Coach and transfer knowledge to all team members.
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 7 or more years of relevant technical and business work experience.
- Experience supporting complex business processes in a heterogeneous technology environment.
- Strong communications skills and ability to present complex technical subject matter to business users in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Agile or Scrum methodology experience required.
- Experience going through an Agile implementation preferred.
- Experience working in an SAP environment.
- Experience with integrating SAP with other solutions preferred.
- Requires leadership skills, experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes.
- Hands-on experience with software engineering and / or IT operations preferred.
