Electrical Engineer - Turbine Systems

Job Description

Cyient, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of expertise in designing and specifying electrical systems and sub-systems for Gas & Steam Turbines. You should have experience with the electrical design of related systems, such as: rotating equipment, colling systems, skids, air intake, etc. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging your skills in electrical design and your knowledge of Gas Turbines (GT) and Steam Turbines.

This role is a remote position; preference given to candidates in Houston or the Central Time zone, as collaboration with international teams is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Coordination: Evaluate supplier offers and review vendor documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Technical Documentation: Understand and review technical specifications and drawings to support project execution.
• System Design: Develop wiring, arrangement, and layout diagrams, along with Bills of Material for systems.
• Instrument Selection: Select and size instruments such as analyzers, solenoid valves, limit switches, pressure and level switches, pressure transmitters, and flow instruments.
• Cable Management: Perform cable-level segregation and select/sizing of conduits, cable trays, and appropriate power and control cables.
• Hazard Zone Expertise: Design and specify systems for both hazardous and non-hazardous zones, including junction box selection and sizing.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with teams across disciplines, including Mechanical, Controls, Sourcing, and Installation & Field Services, to develop comprehensive systems.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, including ISA, ASME, IEC, UL, CE, NEC, and ATEX.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in electrical system design and specification.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in GT and Steam Turbine systems, sub-systems and related components.
• Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret technical specifications, design compliant systems, and collaborate across teams.
