R&D position for Board Level Analog Electronics Design for Parametric Test instruments.
Job Description:

In this position you will be a member of a hardware R&D team in San Jose developing PC Board level circuit designs for high-precision, low-noise measurement instruments for the ADV93k platform to enable our customers to succeed. During the life-cycle of development, the San Jose R&D team designs, evaluates, verifies, and optimizes hardware designs from concept phase to production maturity. The development cycle will require close interaction with the local Software, Mechanical, and Application engineering R&D teams.
Together with the rest of the San Jose R&D team you will work in many cross-functional situations and interact with other Advantest organizations including sites around the world to ensure a manufacturable and supportable design.
This position is for an entry-level engineer, however we would also consider experienced applicants.
Requirements:
Knowledge of designing with analog circuits and analysis using topologies such as gain blocks, inverters, differentiators, integrators, filters, feedback loop stability and circuit simulation methods.
Understanding of low-noise techniques, low temperature/time drift methods, interference minimizing grounding strategies, and precision performance designs.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate ideas, issues, and solutions to peers and management.

Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's degree (preferred) in electrical engineering
Knowledge of designing with analog circuits and analysis using topologies such as gain blocks, inverters, differentiators, integrators, filters, feedback loop stability and circuit simulation methods.
- Understanding of designing with analog circuits such as ADC & DAC IC's, Precision Op Amps, power supplies, discrete transistors
Understanding of low-noise techniques, low temperature/time drift methods, interference minimizing grounding strategies, and precision performance designs.
- Experience using SPICE simulations to model analog circuit performance
- Fluent in English
- Analytic Problem-solver skills with self-contained and result oriented working style
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate ideas, issues, and solutions to peers and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with use of relevant lab instruments such as oscilloscopes
- Practical knowledge of PCB properties, effect of PCB materials on signal quality.
- Practical knowledge or experience creating Schematics and implementing layout
- Digital electronics design skills are an added plus but not a core job requirement
