Overview

We are adding a U.S. Operations V.P. for the fastest growing business unit of Gallagher Benefit Services: Financial Consulting. Serving employers, endowments, foundations, financial planners and insurance agencies, our Financial Solutions cover Executive Benefits, Defined Benefits, Defined Contribution, Investment & Fiduciary, Life & Annuity Marketing and Employee Financial Literacy. Our new Operations Leader will be at the heart of integrating technology, finance and shared services and serve as an internal advisor around building growth strategies and delivery solutions across the U.S. All of this is backed back Gallagher (www.ajg.com), well established (98 years), financially rock solid and growing (NYSE. $10B annual revenue).

How you'll make an impact

The Financial and Retirement Services Vice President of Operations serves to represent Financial and Retirement Services (F&RS) from an operational standpoint by supporting the strategic goals of the organization, as outlined by the division and the Practice. This will be accomplished by driving consistency, best practices, efficiency and the quality of work products and processes in order to deliver best in class services and resources to improve client sales, satisfaction and retention.Work directly with F&RS leadership and division operations leader to ensure alignment of resources, consistent deliverables of services and a balanced focus on divisional and F&RS initiatives.

Operations Functions:
Lead the F&RS operations strategies through both direct management of F&RS operations teams and matrix relationships across local branch offices
Work cross functionally with GBS business partners including: Account Management, Client Support Services, Compliance, Finance, Global Support Services, HRIT, Human Resources, Marketing and Sales Operations to support divisional objectives
Collect and analyze data to promote strategies in operational efficiency, including organization structure design
Recommend operational metrics to proactively improve quality of divisional and F&RS services
Drive adoption of recommended solutions with quantifiable ROI
Provide operational expertise and proven approaches including organizational efficiency, process improvement and automation which includes reviewing internal systems and providing suggestions towards tool development.
Advise and implement technology and/or vendor solutions to support operations and sales activities; drive utilization of technology and solutions across the practice
Facilitate workgroup meetings to ensure consistent communication of strategies and sharing of best practices; drive execution of best practices across the practice
Manage and direct the merger and acquisition support and process management, including due diligence through integration
Participate in the preparation of expense and capital budgets for short and long range planning and operations

Management:
Act as an escalation point and provide broad based assistance for the operations teams to increase capacity to serve GBS and F&RS business partners
Provide oversight and direction to shared resources practice leaders in the development and refinement of local Value Proposition for client services and client deliverables which includes the Investment & Fiduciary Consulting and Retirement Plan Consulting teams
Give cohesive direction and leadership to ensure execution of local branch initiatives that support the strategic divisional and corporate directives

Compliance:
Recommend internal professional standards and internal education; drive results, including limiting E&O exposure at the branch level through practice operational leaders by complying with BOSS (Business Operating Standards and Systems) and audit preparedness
Identify operations risks within the practice and develop mitigation strategies

About You

Required:
BA or BS degree with relative industry experience
10+ years of operational experience within the insurance and/or benefits industry
10+ years of program management or consulting within the insurance and/or benefits industry
Experience with managing resources, risk analysis, budgets and client onboarding and relationship management
Working knowledge of retirement plans, wealth management services, ERISA, broker-dealer and registered investment advisor regulatory standards, investment and benefits outsourcing services, and compliance with federal and state requirements regarding third party services
Experience with setup, management and oversight of the execution of large scale projects
Experience and knowledge of change management, organizational development, profit maximization, productivity and efficiency enhancement
Desired:
More than five years of experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
Master's degree or professional certification preferred
