JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Business Analyst reports to the Director of Analytics and conducts high-level data studies for all Perioperative Services. This position will work closely with the Director to develop business strategies, processes, and investigations that improve the overall profitability and efficiency of the Operating Room. This position will effectively work with members of the health care team to assist them with advanced analytic measurements and judgment support. Functions autonomously with minimum supervision, taking full ownership of key statistical projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Conducts complex data study for Department of Perioperative Services with the goal of improving OR efficiency and profitability.
  • Provides actionable insights and recommendations based on detailed data research.
  • Develops summary, detail, and dashboard reports that present data related to OR efficiency and profitability.
  • Develop methodical models to estimate the impact of different scenarios, assisting in the business choice-making process.
  • Assists Director in preparing operating and capital budgets for assigned areas.
  • Manages the capital request process and assists the Director in preparing appropriate analysis to support the purchase of capital equipment.
  • Provides ongoing variance study to Department of Perioperative Services.
  • Works with Perioperative leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Creates partnerships with internal resources and heads to drive the adoption of data-inspired choice-making.
  • Performs other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.


KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Ability to autonomously examine complex information and formulate clear and purposeful conclusions.
  • Ability to examine financial statements and draw conclusions necessary to manage financial performance.
  • Knowledge of key financial terms, calculations, and concepts.
  • Proven communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work to achieve deliverables.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel.
  • Intermediate skill level in Access (or other database software).
