We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Analyst (specializing in Escheatment/Unclaimed Property) to join our team. This position will focus on reconciling the Escheatment account and processing monthly escheatment tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with escheatment and unclaimed property, a solid understanding of accounting processes, and the ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies. Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst:
- Consistently meet production and quality standards in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Process and account for accounts payable transactions.
- Perform coding and calculations related to accounting transactions.
- Review and verify the accuracy of source data, account balances, calculations, and postings. Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Analyze compiled data and recommend appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies or process issues.
- Ensure all processes are in compliance with SOX regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance in escheatment and unclaimed property procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings with customers, clients, and internal teams.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism, discipline, and a strong competitive spirit.
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree (or degree in progress) in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Two-plus years of experience in accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience or knowledge in escheatment and unclaimed property is a plus.
