Education
The Senior Accountant position supports finance practices and objectives that drive a high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, ethics and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Senior Accountant position supports finance policies, procedures and programs, reports to the Controller and has responsibilities in these areas:
- Month end closing duties including processing journal entries and other month end transactions
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and other reconciliations
- Assist with Fixed Asset (CAPEX, CIP and PP&E) process & reporting
- Responsible for general ledger review and loading results into corporate system
- Responsible for running various system update processes
- Review and resolve suspense account issues related to vendor receipts and invoices i.e., MR11 & MRBR
- Responsible for SAP Project systems, project creation, management & closing process
- Responsible for unbilled receivable analysis
- Responsible for the EAC system maintenance and support for the organization
- Monthly financial reporting and analysis of development programs utilizing Percentage of Completion revenue recognition policies.
- Support month end reporting requirements for management
- Government compliance responsibilities
- Daily general journal duties
- Support the accounting team with the annual government cost incurred submission.
- Provide support for internal and external audit requests as needed.
- Provided analytical and data support for internal management.
- Assist in various process improvement initiatives.
- Other ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Maintain Sox controls to ensure compliance.
- Support operations finance, manufacturing and other functions with key financial data, metrics, and regular reporting.
Senior Accountant Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong sense of commitment to meeting deadlines and self-management.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attentive to detail but able to see the large picture.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and Sox Controls compliance, practices and standards.
- Ability to work well with cross functional departments
- Ability to occasionally work long hours to meet deadlines or resolve issues
- Strong organizational skills
Senior Accountant Experience Requirements:
- 5-10 years of accounting experience
- CPA and/or MS/MBA preferred
- Public Accounting Experience preferred
- History of working individually and within team environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- SAP or ERP experience a plus
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA and/or MS/MBA preferred
