Responsible for overseeing activities related to the technical support and sustaining engineering functions in a product manufacturing area. Plan and direct implementation of equipment, process, or product modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products. Act as an engineering liaison with internal customers to ensure processes meet the needs of identified customers. Provide input to select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Maintain and drive improvements to product quality. Manage a proper inspection methodology to ensure product quality and deviations are detected, monitored, and reacted to in a timely manner. Enhance product quality and monitoring methodology to best capture high-risk issues to protect the product, high-gain issues to drive yield improvements while balancing workload across workstations, staying within capacity and finding ways to do this while reducing effect on cycle time. Provide the necessary response and level of attention to recipe quality issues. Provide effective communication with other areas and Fabs on both positive and negative equipment quality issues to maximize learning. Ensure the Fab has adequate support for his/her team to evaluate experiments and receives knowledgeable summations of results and recommendations on how to proceed with recipe changes. Ensure proper communication between department teams and availability of training, resources and applications to support more effective and efficient spread of information and collection of data necessary for driving quality issues. Work with Real Time Defect Analysis (RDA) module peers and the RDA planner to establish the proper inspection plan for RDA, and monitor the performance-to-model and adjust as necessary. Work with the RDA Key Equipment Group and Central Teams to establish the Model of Record (MOR) for current and future technology, and to identify defect gaps and potential equipment solutions. Provide leadership, communication and mentoring to Team. Lead the personal and professional development of the team with a quality and growth mindset. Supervise a team of industrial engineering technicians and logistics engineers.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Process or Operations Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires:
1. Fab engineering experience with Metrology and RDA tools, process, equipment, and management of processes.
2. Analyzing, and interpreting technical data, and communicating and presenting highly technical data effectively.
3. Manage area metrics to ensure Quality, Safety and area goals are achieved, including Equipment Availability, Unscheduled Downtime, Cost, TPM, 6S, WIP/Cycle Time, Tool Matching, Recipe builds, Equipment PMs, Touch Point Reductions, Labor Productivity.
4. Setting a clear vision to accomplish team's goals across 4 shifts that comprise of Application Engineering, Process Technicians and Equipment technicians.
5. Statistical process control and data analysis programs.
6. Using troubleshooting programs and applications, addressing root causes, and providing updates.
7. Decision making methods using data, established guidelines, procedures, and judgement, including KT PA, DA, PPA or 5 Whys, 8D.
8. Identifying, understanding, and mitigating risk before making critical decisions.
9. Developing and leading a team and ensuring adequate staffing.
