What's the Role:

In the role of HSE Business Partner, you will work closely with site leadership to guarantee adherence to safety and environmental standards, meeting both internal company policies and external legal obligations. Your core function includes offering expert guidance and coaching on modern safety and sustainability initiatives to Bradken's leaders, thereby cultivating a strong safety-focused environment and maintaining effective communication with regulatory authorities.

Your key responsibilities include developing and implementing safety strategies, maintaining a safety-first culture, and ensuring compliance through managing HSE systems, conducting inspections, zero workplace injury, and leading accident investigations.

You will be managing workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, conducting environmental assessments, and ensuring regulatory adherence. You will be performing Bradken HSE audits, addressing non-compliance, and providing HSE data, communications, and behavioural safety support is crucial.

You will analyse safety performance, recommends improvements, and mentor leaders on safety and sustainability. You will also collaborate on national HSE projects, leading change management at the site level for Bradken, and may undertake additional ad-hoc responsibilities.

Key Technical Criteria:
  • Online certificate or advanced diploma or a Degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent with the additional experience listed below.
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation and Injury management. Return to work coordinator qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment management role in the multi-site environment within the manufacturing or resources industry.
  • Must have a high level of hands-on experience in reviewing regulatory requirements and assessing their applicability and impact to the field.
  • Experience rolling out HS&E initiatives, programs, and training in a project and operational setting.
  • Experience in safety culture transformation, leading and coaching leadership teams through a rigorous change management process.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

The role is based in Edmonton.
