Position Overview:
We are looking for a Program Manager to support our newly formed team from an IT perspective. This is an exceptional opportunity to help support a new effort at the firm as part of a small entrepreneurial team. The effort will focus on all major global asset classes including, but not limited to Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Options/Volatility. The Contract Program Manager reports to the Director of Business Services and is a member of the Information Technology team.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads and provides guidance to establish an IT operating and governance model for managing our multi-asset class strategies
  • Partner with the business team in defining their future operating model and business architecture
  • Track and coordinate the program (streams: security master, trading, accounting & performance, and strategic data stores) and its dependencies
  • Ensure that each project within the program has a direct responsible individual
  • Manage collective activities, issues, dependencies, and risks of the projects within the portfolio
  • Ensure transparency by keeping all stakeholders, project members, and leadership informed
  • Advocate for delivery process and controls
  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase productivity and foster innovation
  • Mentor team members on Agile principals and best practices
  • Work with project scrum masters to plan sprints, prioritize the backlog, lead teams, manage the development process, identify and eliminate obstacles from delivery
  • Lead the Scrum of Scrums across all projects within the delivery team on a daily basis
  • Ensure transparency throughout delivery utilizing Agile best practices such as Sprint Planning, Release and Sprint Burndown, Daily Scrum, Sprint Demos, and Retrospectives

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in the asset management business, ideally with a buy-side multi-asset focus
  • Recent experience managing and implementing multi-asset class front, middle, and back office solutions with the following security types: Equities, ETFs, Futures, Options, Structured Notes, FX, Total Return Swaps, Interest Rates Swaps, and Volatility Swaps
  • 10 years of prior experience as a Project Manager
  • 5+ years of recent experience as a Scrum Master and is CSM certified
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like Rally, Jira, and VersionOne (Jira Preferred)
  • Experience implementing and integrating front office functions with an order management systems (Charles River preferred), security master solutions (MarkIT EDM preferred), performance systems (BiSam preferred), accounting systems/providers (SS&C GlobeOp / Advent Geneva preferred)
  • Excellent communication & mentoring skills
