Job Description:

Future Technologies is seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business operations, ensuring compliance with labor regulations and company policy, while serving as a trusted resource for employees, supervisors, and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively evaluate, recommend, implement, and enforce employee relations and human resource policies, procedures, programs, and practices.
  • Make recommendations to improve management effectiveness, employee engagement, and company performance. Create and establish a company professional development and performance evaluation plan.
  • Provide employee counseling and problem solving to ensure a productive work environment, consistent with company values, policies, and compliance with state and federal regulatory law.
  • Develop and manage a company recruiting and talent acquisition function. Work with management to determine staffing needs; develop and coordinate a recruiting plan for each job opening; onboard new hires.
  • Oversee the areas of employment, employee benefits, compensation, performance appraisal programs, personnel record keeping, unemployment claims and employee relations.
  • Oversee weekly time and attendance reporting and payroll processing. Assist employees with questions about payroll, time off, insurance, benefits, etc.
  • Oversee employee benefit programs including insurance, 401k, etc. On an annual basis, evaluate insurance and benefit options, and coordinate annual employee benefit reenrollment.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • Manage affirmative action plan compliance, ACA, DOL, & OSHA reporting compliance
  • Retain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
  • Provide training and guidance to management about employment-related legal compliance requirements, company human resources policies, etc.
  • Maintain and publish/distribute employee-related documentation, such as Job Descriptions, Employee Handbook, New Hire Checklist, Annual Benefits Summary etc.

Education, Experience, & Licensing
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional credentials in the field of Human Resources are strongly preferred, such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience in a for-profit business environment. Small company experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to coach employees and management through complex issues and make recommendations that are consistent with policies, procedures and regulatory law.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law and regulations.
  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Ability to maintain composure during stressful/emergency situations.
  • Fluent in the use of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
