Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Speech Language Pathology
Job Description:
- Examine, test, diagnose, and administer remedial treatments for patients with speech and hearing disorders.
- Evaluate patients using a variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders.
- Record speech samples and conduct phonetic analyses of speech ability.
- Document test results and recommend remedial treatment.
- Perform evaluations focusing on receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation, and auditory skills.
- Confer with associates and institute treatment using corrective exercises and special equipment.
- Maintain active and supportive communication with patients regarding progress, problems, home programs, and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
- Responsible for the direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of supportive staff, volunteers, and students.
- Interpret and carry out the prescription of the physician; receive and write verbal orders from physicians, nurse practitioners, and/or physician assistants in accordance with practice act guidelines.
- Ensure good public relations, protection of confidential data, economic use of time, equipment and supplies, and the safety and welfare of patients and associates.
- Perform other diverse duties as requested.
