Summary:

In this role, the successful candidate will perform data analysis to identify root cause for suboptimum experience scores, health disparities and diversity and inclusion improvement opportunities. Effectively managing Nuvance Health customer feedback through high volume data mining and requesting system action to prevent recurrence of issues. Orients every new Nuvance Health Manager and above on how to access patient experience scores, data and comments from post discharge calls, employee rounds and patient facing rounds to improve care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide monthly data to operational leaders, patient experience councils, HEDI Advisory Councils and patient family advisory councils focusing on continuous improvement and ensures all service lines and support services have data analysis to support their action plans. Looks with a critical eye across Nuvance Health for variance to standardize our relationship centered communication approach to care.
  • Refine, support and enhance RN best practices including but not limited to (hourly rounds, bedside shift report, RN leader rounds, post discharge phone calls) incorporating evolving patient and family perspective, and support quantitative and qualitative analysis of saturation and impact of these interventions to pertinent leaders.
  • Lead the data collection for delivery of relationship-centered communication (RCC).This will ensure new and existing employees participate in simulation-based communication training at regular intervals and these are integrated into mandatory annual competencies.
  • Use complaint and grievance trended data along with incident reports to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify process improvement opportunities in areas of overlapping employee engagement, quality and safety and patient experience priorities. Works with key leaders to develop and administer individual, practice and or departmental accountability plans and action plans.
  • Analyze CAHPS data to determine trends and work with patient experience and operational leaders to determine root cause and correct.
  • Assist HEDI leaders including the Advisory Committee to identify improvement opportunities on our data to promote diversity and inclusion in recruiting, retention, mentorship and growth.
  • Provide complaint and grievance report to operational leaders. Analyze and trend themes from complaints and grievances extracted from Midas.
  • Supervise and train other data super users as needed; and orient every new leader 1:1 on to how to access their patient experience scores.
  • Assist institute, service line and quality leaders to identify patient healthcare disparities including recommendations on pertinent Race, ethnicity and Language (REL) data capture.

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Education and experience in organizational development, psychology, social work, nurse education, anthropology, engineering, sociology, or related education and or experience that deepen understanding of culture change and change management are highly valued.
    • Knowledge of Excel, Word and database applications.
    • Experience in Human Centered Design, LEAN, Six Sigma and or LEAN certification and applied experience preferred.
